SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES OF THE SHOW
The West Wilts Show 2007 began with awlfull weather, wind and rain. The fireworks were canceled and Event Radio Live 106.9FM was even taken off-air after rain got into the transmitter shorting it out for a while! I missed Thursdays events at the show due to work.
Friday the weather had improved, although often overcast it stayed dry for the event, Live bands that couldn't perform on Thursday were able to be squeezed into the busy schedule on the main stage, Event Radio Live was back on air, and 40 tons of wood chippings from Longlete were being put down in muddy areas to soak up the rain.
Midge Ure was the headline act on Friday night, performing an accustic set to a large crowd, followed by the firework display that was meant to have happened the day previous. Hence why the music chosen was dramatic special versions of Queen songs, The idea being it was to follow on from Queen B's live set on Thursday night.
The fireworks were stunning, Artizan Productions helped put on the firework display. People watched in amazement at the breath-taking display. Probably the best firework display I've seen this year.
Saturday was the busiest day of the show and the sun shone right to the last hour, when it began to come overcast on the last live gig of the day, The Bon Jovi experience. But it stayed dry and the gig pulled in a massive crowd and was so good you could actually think and believe he was the real thing, looks and sound wise!
The rain did come in the end, but well after the show had finished.
Other things at the show included kids fun fair, bouncy castle, a Darleck. several new car stands, Business marquee, Town Marquees, Stalls, and loads more things dotted around the site in the Trowbridge park to the point there was almost no space for it!
Anyways, Here are a selection of images from the West Wilts Show, Mostly
